100-ish Word Thought: What You Resist Persists
Smooth Sailing
My daughter is a sailor and last night she taught me that the phrase "even keel" comes from sailing. It's apparently a boat part that keeps the boat steady and in balance. No idea. Point is this: Steady and in balance is what we're going for on the water, and in marketing. When things go wrong or we're looking ahead to 2024, freaked out at the prospects (or lack there of), there's a tendency to "over parent" the situation. We throw more posts at the problem. More training. More coffee dates. More, more, more. The real solution though is not to overcorrect and over do any one thing. Rather, it's to approach possible solutions with balance and consistency. If we pull too many levers too hard all at once, there's no way to know what's working and what's not. It's nothing but more chaos and more confusion. The goal is an even keel in your marketing and in life.
